Help for Adoptive Parents

Activities have developed for Russian families who’ve adopted.

Russian families are stepping up to adopt more and more. So, how can we help them thrive amidst the struggles that brings?

Gennadiy and the ministry team have been hosting this program for Russian parents who are fostering or adopting from the Russian orphanage system. The increase in adoptions by Russian families is one of the reasons the need for our residential transition ministry of Hope House diminished, as Russian adoptions were on the rise. As we phased out the residential ministry, we had the ability to redirect support toward this strategic effort.

One of the vital ministries of this project is summer camps for these families every year. The family camp is a time for parents to encourage one another, realizing they are not unique or alone in the struggles common to such adoptions of children "from hard places", as Karyn Purvis liked to call them.

The team is also hosting education opportunities and networking opportunities throughout the year.
